Eco friendly facebook
November 8th 2007 00:41
Apart from being a place to share photos and reunite with long forgotten preschool friends, the social networking site Facebook has a green page.
A group created by an anonymous member named "Stop Global Warming" has 699,931 members and $9,756 has been donated to the cause so far.
Their incentive is listed as an attempt to curb the effects of global warming, encourage sustainable living and try to promote global climate change awareness.
All donations benefit Friends of the United Nations Environment Programme, and they support government action to require curbing emissions by 80% by 2050.
The difference such groups make may be minimal but who knows?
