There are along list of eco friendly tips out there that we all MUST live by in order to save the Earth. But, many of us choose not to even look at the list of eco friendly tips, let alone follow it. Why? Maybe it is because we have no real stake in the outcome of our actions if we choose not to follow eco friendly tips. Well, for stake's sake, here is one animal that would be very happy if those eco friendly tips became a regular habit.
Meet Mr. Otter.
Mr. Otter has recently been granted protection in the state of Alaska. The Aleutian Islands is a place where eco friendly tips were far outweighed by the feeding habits of some killer whales. The Otter population was dwindling and without help from man, he would have been extinct in a very short period of time.
What did it take to free Mr. Otter and protect him? A LAWSUIT. That's right, one company sued another company and voila - Mr. Otter is now protected.
Why should it take a lawsuit to protect an endangered species? There is no doubt that people know the sea otter population in Alaska was racing toward extinction. Some group of people, somewhere chose not to see what was in front of them or recognize the dire need of this playful animal. These are the same people, no doubt, that choose not to follow eco friendly tips.
