Micheal Franti-inspiring love
October 21st 2006 22:21
I promised my readers more on Consciously hip music, and for today's post I'd like to salute Micheal Franti. He is an amazing performance artist, and all of his songs have something important to say... one of his mottos is "Power to the Peaceful".
His shows are interactive and intimate, no matter how big the audience, you leave feeling like he is your personal friend.
In his upbeat yet strong lyrics, he urges us to stand up for our freedom, and reminds us to love one another, while inspiring us to have a lot of fun!
He Comes to Maui often, and seems to really dig it here. I hope he gets as much inspiration from here, as we get from him.
In one of his latest projects, he boldly went to Iraq, and other war torn middle eastern countries, to see for himself what was going on over there. He made a documentary about it called "I know I'm not alone".
With his big long dreadlocks, he definitely stood out over there, and created a stir. Nonetheless, he made some amazing bonds with some of the locals, and had important interactions with some humans that are living a life of uncertainty.
To get info on the movie, or follow this Awesome guy,
