Organic Travelling
October 13th 2006 07:32
It was such a great experience this
summer to travel from our home island Maui to Colorado, and Europe,
and eat amazing foods, and share wonderful meals with people from
all around the globe. From the delicious Tapas in Spain, to the Cous
cous Tagines in Morocco to the Antipasto in
Italy we sampled an amazing array of cuisines.
I didn't think it would be easy to find delicious healthy natural
foods in Europe. Their reputation is one of rich, indulgent foods
such as breads, pastas and fat laden sauces. While there
was plenty of that to be found, I also discovered that the
Europeans have a dedication to fresh local foods of great quality.
The whole Organic Foods concept is one that has been instilled in
their consciousness for a long time.
There are a lot of Organic product choices in even the most mainstream supermarkets. Not to
mention unbelievable Farmer's Markets in every corner of Europe.
In Hungary we visited friends I met in Thailand, and we shared a
wonderful thai curry, cooked over an open fire, in a pot that hung
from a tripod. This contraption is a Hungarian invention, and it
produced an unbelievable Curry like none I've ever eaten.
