In a recent post on the Great Barrier Reef, the effect of global warming on the reef was discussed. Global warming is linked to huge changes in the chemical makeup of the atmosphere. If humans do not heed the natural warnings, these chemicals levels will become too strong and the earth will warm beyond our control.
How Long Have We Been Talking?
Despite the fact that the word "Global Warming" has been on the tip of the world's tongue for at least the last decade, no one is making the changes needed to reverse the horrid effects made by humans on the earth.
There are pictures showing the receding ice shelves, there is the reduction in color and life on the Great Barrier Reef and now sea temperatures are being recorded at an all time HIGH!
The national Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported on 14 August, 2009 that the temperatures on the surface of the ocean were the hottest on record in July. That means, despite the major media push toward GREEN solutions, people are simply not changing fast enough. With ten years under our belts as conscience consumers, we should be seeing some real change by now.
